After an earlier career as an academic, Mick joined LWT in 1979 as a
researcher. He moved into management in 1982 as Programme
Development Executive at LWT and then in 1985 followed Greg Dyke
to TVS, where he was initially Head of Programme Planning and
Development, and subsequently Controller of Corporate Development.
In 1988 he joined the independent production sector as CEO of MGMM, and in 1990 moved to Alomo Productions as Managing Director. He became MD of Alomo’s parent group, SelectTV PLC, in 1992.
In 1993 he moved to Chrysalis Group PLC as CEO of the newly established TV division. Mick built this up into one of the UK’s biggest TV production groups. When Chrysalis sold the business in 2003 for £51 million it had 11 production businesses in seven countries and annual sales of £90 million.
Mick is now Executive Chairman of AIM-listed TV production group, Motive Television PLC, which plans to acquire a portfolio of UK Television production businesses.
