Alan James’ career began at Dorland Advertising before he joined
Ogilvy and Mather, where he rose to become Television Buying
Director of The Network it’s media arm, negotiating for Guinness,
Ford and IBM amongst others. After 13 years at O&M Alan joined the
BBC in 1998 as its first Head of Media Planning, overseeing
promotional airtime across all BBC television, national radio and BBCi
the corporation’s new media services. Alan is a lifelong Leeds United
fan, and has recently convinced his two young sons to take the
penance as well!
