Rory Sutherland is Vice Chairman and Executive Creative Director, OgilvyOne Worldwide, London. He joined the then Ogilvy & Mather Direct as a graduate trainee in 1988. A year later he joined the Planning Department and soon afterwards confessed an interest in copywriting to his line manager, who agreed this was a jolly sensible move.

Rory was promoted to Head of Copy in 1995 and Creative Director in 1997, where he was closely involved in the agency's relaunch and restructuring as OgilvyOne. He is an enthusiastic advocate of new media and new means of advertising. He was promoted to Executive Creative Director at OgilvyOne Worldwide in 2002 and to Vice Chairman in 2004.
