Malcolm Poynton is Executive Creative Director Ogilvy & Mather. A career in advertising happened by accident and Malcolm became a founding member of a local start-up. A brief stint at BBDO London in 1989 led to joining another start-up, OMON in Sydney, Australia. Joining M&CSaatchi London in 1994, he became Deputy Creative Director. In 2001 he defected to Saatchi&Saatch. By 2003 they were Australian Television Awards’ ‘Agency of the Year’, had produced Australia’s ‘favourite ad’ two years running and were also named 2003 Australian Agency of the Year. Malcolm joined Ogilvy London in 2003.
